This order was an official tender, organized by the town of Bratislava, within the framework of the project waste management in Bratislava. Seven tenderer took part in this tender. Together with our Slovakian Partner Tanzer Consulting we arranged all necessary documents.
The subjects of tender were 1600 pieces of special containers for paper, glass and plastic with a volume of 1100 l. Interservice received the surcharge. Delivery took place in three periods, from November 2004 until June 2005.

In the final stages of the project we delivered some innovative containers, known in public as “Kermit”. These containers are our development and applied for a patent in whole Europe and are used for collection of PET-bottles. In nearly all parts of Austria waste management of synthetic material is already switched over to these special containers. Bratislava seemed to be attracted and wanted to follow the Austrian example. The phase of testing these “Kermit” containers in Bratislava is supplied with special funds by the European Union.

ARGEV is responsible for translation into action of collection of synthetic material packing in Austria. For this purpose INTERSERVICE got the task to develop a special container. This did not take place exclusively by Interservice, although there were various other similar orders from different types of clients. In this way “Kermit” was developed.
The main goal was a pure collection of PET-bottles, better organized and with improved quality. Due to the both characteristic oval openings in the lid, the consumer gets attracted to separate the waste. Kermit was tested in small quantities in Vienna within 18 months by MA48. The results were that excellent (amount of wrong throw ins could be lowered from 40 % to 7 % of collection), as the whole collection of PET-bottles nowadays takes place only by Kermit’s. Results after the changeover are very positive too. MA48 and ARGEV are completely satisfied with the execution and development of this project.

Austrian households carry out its collection of synthetic material packing with “Gelbe Säcke” (yellow bags). ARGEV is the executive authority of the BMU (ministry of environment) and responsible for the execution according to the rules. The requirements for “Gelbe Säcke” were especially tendered in this project and INTERSERVICE received the surcharge. About 15 million of these bags were delivered by INTERSERVICE to Austrian households, who also got the responsibility for taking the proper course of delivery (time, quality, quantity). ARGEV was fully satisfied with the execution of this project.
